Abstract


Regional economic development is a collaborative process between local Article history Received June 2025 Revised October 2025 gowverments and society aimed at optimizing available resources to creat employment oppoturnities and improve comunity walfare. One of the key Accepted November 2025 indicators of successful economic development is economic growth. However, in my regions, including in Java Island, economic growth has not been able to effectively reduce income inequality due to uneven development and disparities in resource allocation. Differences in the human development and disparities in resources allocation. Differences in the Human Development Index (HDI) among regions further exacerbate income disparities. Moreover, according ti the International Monetary Fund (IMF), technological advancement without adequate human capital and skills development contributes significantly to rising income inequality, as refelcted in the Gini Ratio. 

This study aims to analyze the impact of economic growth, technological advancement. And the Human Development Index (HDI) on income regions in Java Island. disparity in Java Island for the period 2015-2023. The research uses secondary data and applies panel data analysis with Random Effect Model (REM) as the best fitting approach. The result show that economic growth and HID have a positive relationship with the income disparity, indicating that highergrowth and development levels are not alwaysaccompained by equitable income distribution.in contrast, techological advancement has a negative and statistically significant effect, sugesting that it can play a role in reducing income inequality when evenly adopted. These findings highlight the need for inclusive and equitable development strategies to address income inequality across
