Abstract

Batam City is renowned as an industrial city due to its location on international shipping routes. According to 2019 data from the Central Statistics Agency (BPS), it is the most prosperous city on the island of Sumatra. However, there are still issues, one of which is the uneven development of infrastructure between the mainland and hinterland areas. The purpose of this analysis is to identify strategies that can address these issues. The data used is secondary data on the causes of inequality, which is then formulated into an objective. The method used is a qualitative method, namely the Logical Framework Analysis (LFA) method in the fifth step regarding the implementation of strategies and activities. The results of this analysis produced several strategies, one of which is to focus development on hinterland areas based on the Spatial Planning and Development Plan (RTRW) and the Detailed Spatial Planning and Development Plan (RDTR), as well as the distribution and equalisation of resources between mainland and hinterland areas.
