Abstract


This research aims to analyze the sustainability level of rice farming in Tarik District, Sidoarjo Regency, and to identify sensitive attributes influencing sustainability. The study applied the RAP-Farm method based on Multidimensional Scaling (MDS), consisting of five sustainability dimensions: ecological, economic, social, institutional, and technological. Primary data were collected from 44 farmers through structured questionnaires, while secondary data were obtained from BPS and related institutions. The results indicate that rice farming sustainability is categorized as moderately sustainable with a multidimensional index value of 51.74. The technological dimension shows the highest sustainability level (55.65), while the institutional dimension is the weakest (46.22). Sensitive attributes include irrigation availability, farming capital, farmer discussions, participation in agricultural planning, and technological influence on yield. Strengthening farmer institutions, improving agricultural extension, and increasing access to agricultural technology are key strategies for enhancing sustainability.
