Abstract


Poverty is a sensitive and crucial problem in every country, especially in developing countries like Indonesia. East Java has been the province with the highest number of poor people in Indonesia for several years. This research aims to determine the effect of income inequality, education level and economic growth on poverty in 36 districts/cities in East Java. The method used in this research is panel data analysis, and the data used is secondary data. The research results show that the inequality variable has a positive and significant effect on poverty in East Java, education level has a negative and significant effect on poverty in East Java, and economic growth has a negative and significant effect on poverty in East Java.
